“Once a convent, the building retains a unique sense of history alongside modern comforts, particularly in its individually decorated rooms; I was struck by its two AA Rosette-awarded restaurant that emphasizes local Cornish fare. The gardens provide a tranquil escape, rare for a city-center location, making it ideal for a relaxing retreat. In my opinion, it's a noteworthy choice for those seeking character and convenience.”

Acceptable Stay

good size comfortable bed
The building has a beautiful character. Staff seems friendly and polite. Our room was of a good size and the bed was comfortable. It took only a five-minute walk to reach the town.
I stayed on a Saturday. The hotel was busy that night. Breakfast took longer than expected to arrive, almost an hour and a half.

Underwhelming Stay, Needs Improvement

cramped room slow service
My room felt rather cramped. Maneuvering around with the wardrobe open was a struggle. The promised coziness felt more like confinement. breakfast service was notably slow. I waited an unreasonable amount of time for my order. This delay was frustrating, especially when eager to start the day.

lovely architecture friendly staff slow breakfast weak shower
The building boasts lovely architecture. I found its charm captivating. The staff were very friendly. The food was excellent. Each dish was a delight to savour. My room was very comfortable, and it offered wonderful views.
The breakfast service was rather slow, and I waited longer than expected for my order. Some elements of my breakfast were forgotten on multiple days, a small disappointment. The shower had weak water pressure. This. The water jet was not easy to direct properly.
